Tech Giants Promise Cyber Security Assistance
Tech is looking like it wants to have a big week coming off last Friday’s market rally.
There is a myriad of new technology studies and rumors swirling about in the news space.
Today I’d like to highlight a few things that have piqued my interest.
Read below for everything I have my eye on this week…
1. Google May be Reorganizing its Health Division
Having faced problems before, the tech giant appears to be rethinking it’s strategy when it comes to health services.
Thanks to a leaked memo, we have some insight on some of the decision making.
Google may be looking forward to a reorganization of it’s AI-focused healthcare initiatives.
What could the future of Google’s health services look like?
2. Starlink Ships Out More Terminals
Elon Musk’s Starlink project made waves across the tech space when it announced its aim to provide broadband internet to the globe via a network of satellites.
The project began satellite launches back in November of 2019 and has recently shipped out 100 thousand more terminals.
SpaceX also says that this is just the beginning of what’s to come.
3. Companies Band Together on Promises of Cybersecurity
Recently, executives from tech giants such as Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, IBM and more, made a trip to the whitehouse to discuss plans to increase cybersecurity measures for the nation.
Cybersecurity threats facing the infrastructure, consumers and companies are being addressed as promises are being made.
Read more about what was promised by each tech giant.
4. Apple Seeks to Clarify App Store Rules
Following a class-action lawsuit from US app developers, Apple has proposed a $100 million payout.
The settlement also includes clarification on Apple’s policies regarding how developers can contact their customers inside their apps to tell them about payment options outside the App Store.
However, this doesn’t appear to change much.
5. Virtual Reality Could Potentially Have Medical Uses for Children
In a recent study, JAMA found that the use of virtual reality could alleviate pain and anxiety for children receiving medical attention.
There is now a possibility that VR tech could have a serious future in medical procedure therapy.
In fact, it works so well that a Los Angeles children's hospital offers it routinely.
To a bright future,
