The summer doldrums are upon us.

And every week it seems like we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop to send the markets in some direction.

All the while, though, tech continues to break more and more records. And the future’s looking bright!

Here’s what I’m looking at this week…

Not So Boring After All

After years in the works, Elon Musk’s Boring Co. finally is ready.

Underneath Las Vegas in a 1.5-mile loop the shuttle service offers riders the ability to get to and from places quickly and efficiently.

The key is a one-way loop that eliminates traffic congestion and gives attendees of the Las Vegas Convention Center an easy way to get to and from their destinations.

It’s still not the autonomous high-speed future that was originally touted…

But it’s a step in the right direction.

Breaking up Big Tech

Silicon Valley has been under the microscope of Congress for the past couple years…

Censorship, privacy and competition issues have had lawmakers on both sides cry foul at the practices.

So now they’re saying enough is enough.

Quantum computing is a fascinating and extremely complex field of technology.

In the realm of encryption, it’s touted to be an “unhackable” way of sending information.

Researchers are breaking records every day trying to get a commercial quantum computer up and running.

And as we break more records, we could see quantum computing become a reality soon…
